Born out of the soul-jazz label Jazz is Dead, a powerful amalgamation of musicians have come together for a new song 'A Redor Do Samba', featuring Brazilian jazz-funk trio Azymuth, composer and producer Adrian Younge, musician and hip-hop producer Ali Shaheed Muhammad. A swingy, samba rhythm is created by the drums and bass, adorned by a playful lead guitar, brass and keys for a sophisticated and relaxed result. Later on, the musicians let their hair down and delve into a trance of organ solos and psychedelic wah guitar, creating a truly joyful sound. 'A Redor Do Samba' demonstrates the group's ability to elevate their collaborators while also showcasing their distinctive sound, helping to redraw the boundaries of Brazilian jazz, futuristic funk and samba. -Ellie Rose-Davies
